Dr. J. Keshmirian BSc (Hons.), PhD, Postdoctoral Fellowship, MD, CCFP has had an illustrious career as a physician, author and academic.
Clinical practice involves family and community medicine with special interest and focus on adult and geriatric internal medicine. In addition, he has a wide range of clinical experience including in-hospital patient care, neurosurgical procedures as well as rural (Northern Ontario) community practice. He particularly enjoys serving people with special needs and communities characterized by diverse cultural and economic challenges.
He teaches Clinical Medicine to undergraduate medical students at the University of Toronto (UHN/Wightman-Berris Academy), and he is also an Assistant Professor at the Metropolitan University of Toronto School of medicine. He is the winner of several awards of excellence in teaching, including recent (2024) prestigious award of excellence in teaching at the University of Toronto. His scientific background involves expertise in cell culture studies of neural and cancer cells.
